Overview

TTC Training is able to provide Fares & Ticketing courses to the travel industry on a manual basis for Foundation Level as well as at Levels 1 & 2.


The Passport into Air packs come in three levels:

Level 1 (PA1 – Foundation)
Level 2
(PA2 – Level 1)
Level 3
(PA3Level 2)

We provide manuals for each course and these are beautifully presented in ring binder format and contain comprehensive course notes, and extensive question/answer exercises – ideal preparation for the three levels of examinations.

We also provide guidance and support from our experienced team of trainers.

Passport into Air 1: Foundation Air

Introduces you to the world of air and completion of this course will provide the student with a good all round knowledge of the Airline Industry.


Subjects covered include:

The World of Air including travel trade organisations, ATOL and industry terms

Airline destinations around the world

Flight information including charter & schedule flights, surface information for airports and different codes

Travel Information including airline timetables, flight routings and time zones

The four main Global Distribution Systems

Fares and flight documentation including different fares types, their restrictions and airline tickets

Obvious progression towards Passport into Air 2

Who does this course apply to?

Candidates who have a limited knowledge of air travel.

Passport into Air 2: Fares & Ticketing Level 1

Develop your travel career with this Fares & Ticketing course covering industry terminology, procedures and fares and ticketing completion to IATA standards.


Subjects covered include:

Reference source – as appropriate, i.e. Manual (PAT) or system (CRS)

NUCs

World Geography – IATA areas and main sub areas

Coding – Airlines, Cities, Airports, Countries and Currencies

Special Services (Overview) e.g. Special Meals, Unaccompanied Minors, Meet & Assist, etc

Tickets – clear understanding of e-tickets, Manual, OPTAT/TAT and ATBs – for both Normal and Special Fares

MPDs and/or MCOs

One Way and Return Normal Fares in NUCs including Mileage System, Excess Mileage Surcharge (EMS) and Extra Mileage Allowance (EMA)

Child and Infant Fares

Special Fares – Apex, Pex and Excursion

Taxes, Fees and Charges

Excess Baggage Overview

Who does this course apply to?

Candidates who have either achieved a pass in Passport into Air 1, or those with some basic background in the travel industry.

Passport into Air 3: Fares & Ticketing Level 2

Gain this prestigious Fares & Ticketing certificate by learning how to calculate complex fares and issue conjunction tickets for special fares with confidence.


Subjects covered include:

Reference Source as appropriate – Manual (PAT) or System (CRS)

Add-on fares (overview)

Higher Intermediate Fare Check – HIPs/HIFs

• Backhaul Check

• Circle Trip Check

Normal Restricted/Secondary Level HIP/HIF and CTM concept to be overviewed

• Mixed Class fares – including surcharges on differentials, excluding HIFs/HIPs on differentials

• Surface Sectors on Normal Faresincluding NOJs

A. PA 1, 2 & 3 are travel courses open to any candidate wishing to embark on a variety of roles within the travel industry. PA 1 provides grounding in basic air travel; PA 2 gives candidates a thorough grounding in Fares & Ticketing completion. PA 3 is designed to follow on from PA 2 and gives candidates the ability to calculate complex fares and issue tickets for multi sector journeys.
