Ireland Specialist Training Programme

This training programme, designed for the Irish Tourist Board, provides Travel Agents with in-depth information about Ireland, both North and South, as an exciting modern holiday destination.

The course is made up of seven self-study modules, with the first three giving an overview of Irish life and culture, general information about travelling to and within the country and the wide range of holidays available. The remaining four modules contain detailed regional information about what to see and do, food, entertainment and shopping. During the course there may be opportunities to visit Ireland and obtain invaluable experience on what there is on offer. There are also prizes for achieving maximum points at various stages of the course and VIP invitations to Travel Trade Events.

Those successfully completing the programme will be awarded a certificate and may have clients referred to them by Irish Tourist Board information staff, who advise callers to contact their local 'Ireland Expert' to make holiday arrangements.

Scandinavia Travel Study Programme -

'The Viking Challenge'

This programme of self-study material is designed for Travel Agency staff and any Tour Operators specialising in this region and is intended to be retained as a handy reference manual.
It contains six fact files, one of which provides a general introduction to Scandinavia, and five others which specialise in the individual countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Each of these contain an introduction to the country and essential information on: getting there and getting about, major cities, holiday regions, accommodation, holiday options, festivals and events, along with other tourist information and useful contacts.
A section of activities and questions at the end of each fact file ensures familiarity with the layout of the file and the information contained in it, so that the manual can be kept and used as a handy reference guide. There is also an assessment test for each country which the individual tourist boards mark and when all sections have been completed a certificate is awarded.
Everyone completing 'The Viking Challenge' has the opportunity to enter a Mastermind Quiz which has prizes of trips to Scandinavia.
