Travel Destinations are stand alone UK & worldwide destination geography qualifications available at three levels. They can also be used as credit towards our ABTAC & ABTOC qualifications.

     
Why select Travel Destinations?

Travel Destinations is the one subject which all people working in travel and tourism need to know about. These qualifications are at NVQ/SVQ levels 1,2 and 3 and are based upon the relevant national occupational standards at levels 2 and 3. Travel Destinations at levels 2 and 3 are also the Technical Certificates agreed for Travel Services Apprenticeship purposes.

These qualifications are stand-alone but at levels 2 and 3 provide credit towards ABTAC and ABTOC qualifications.

This qualification is available at 3 levels.

Level 1

This qualification covers worldwide destinations and tourist locations and information. Successful candidates will know how to read and interpret tourist maps and atlases and have gained a basic knowledge of worldwide destinations and attractions and how to provide this information to clients.

Level 2


This qualification covers major tourist attractions and travel and tourist information. Successful candidates will have a broad, general knowledge of major tourist locations around the world and have learned how to provide information on worldwide time zones and travel to their clients.

Level 3

This qualification covers advanced worldwide tourist locations and advanced travel and tourist information in more detail and range. Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of worldwide tourist locations, the effect of worldwide time zones, be able to give detailed travel information to clients and to provide additional information to assist in choice of destination.

     
How is it tested?

By written examination available each year in March, June and December.

Level 1

This knowledge is tested by means of a 1 hour multiple choice paper.

Level 2

This knowledge is tested by means of a 1 hour 30 minutes written paper.

Level 3

This knowledge is tested by means of a 1 hour 30 minutes written paper.

Where to study?

Travel Destinations can be undertaken by enrolling with one of City & Guilds/TTC Training's approved partner centres, generally Colleges of Further Education. Full details are available from TTC Training.
